From the A6 between Buxton and Chapel-en-le-Frith, there are two roads which converge at the bridge, the first from the moors above Buxton, the second from near Dove Holes Station.
There are a few spaces to park round and about the location.
For those flying in to the location, there is a regular hourly bus service from Manchester Airport direct to Peak Dale. Trent service 199 operates every 30 minutes (though only one of those journeys divert via Peak Dale) between Manchester Airport, Stockport, Chapel-en-le-Frith and Buxton.
There are no amenities in the area.
The light is best here for trains heading from the main line at Chinley towards Peak Forest, Tunstead, Buxton and Dowlow. Trains terminating at Peak Forest either use the sidings to the south of the bridge or for RMC traffic in the terminal to the north. The line is mechanically signalled.
