There is no road access to this location. Park in Chapel-en-le-Frith as close as you can get to the A624, then it’s a walk.

Public transport
By rail to Chinley station by local services from Manchester Piccadilly or Sheffield, then a longish walk (25 to 30 minutes). Turn left into Station Road. At the end, cross over into Buxton Road (B6062), which joins the A624 at a T-junction. Continue south along the A624, passing Chinley North Junction signal box, and then pass under two railway viaducts. Immediately after passing under the A6 Chapel-en-le-Frith by-pass, a very steep, poorly defined footpath climbs westward, adjacent to the A6. After passing through a field, the footpath reaches an occupation bridge over the railway. Access is also possible from Chapel-en-le-Frith station on the Stockport to Buxton line, but the station is located a long way south of the town centre - walking time around 40 minutes to Chinley South Junction. O.S. maps show an alternative access to the bridge from Chapel-en-le-Frith by a footpath through farmland on the west side of the railway - this was not explored, as the track on the west side of the bridge had been churned up by cows and was virtually impassable with everyday footwear.
Photographs are possible from the bridge, or from the footpath across the field just before reaching the bridge. The lighting conditions favour photography of southbound trains. During the middle part of the day, the sun is located behind northbound trains, making photography difficult.
