Use the A6 Chapel-en-le-Frith by pass to reach the northern edge of the town, then take the link to the A624. Turn north along the A624 towards Chinley, and as you reach the second railway viaduct, turn east (right) onto a minor road. After passing under another railway bridge, fork left onto a road leading to the bridge by the junction.
Park on the approach road, away from the bends in the road.
By rail to Chinley station by local services from Manchester Piccadilly or Sheffield, then a longish walk (about 25 minutes). Turn left into Station Road. At the end, cross over into Buxton Road (B6062), which joins the A624 at a T-junction. Continue south along the A624, passing Chinley North Junction signal box. On reaching the first railway viaduct, turn east (left) onto a minor road. After passing under another railway bridge, fork left onto a road leading to the bridge at the junction. There is a limited bus service along the B6062 / A624 from Chinley to Chapel-en-le-Frith & Buxton.

The lighting conditions favour photography of eastbound trains leaving the triangle. Heavy shading by vegetation makes it difficult to photograph westbound trains on sunny days.
