From the one-way system where the A23 and A22 meet, follow the signs for the A235 (Brighton Road) towards South Croydon. Take the first right, then turn right again when you get to Whytecliffe Road. The station is on the left, opposite the multi storey car park.
There is a short stay multi storey car park opposite the main entrance.
There are frequent trains from London and East Croydon, also two trains per hour from the south via Redhill.
Close to Purley town centre which has the usual shops and fast food outlets, also there is a large Tesco superstore nearby. Toilets on the station platforms.
The stone terminal is located next to platform 6, and is busiest in the mornings before 11am, usually 3-4 Class 59 or 60 locos can be seen. The northern ends of the platforms have clear views of the main lines, with not too much platform furniture. Platforms 1&2 are used for fast trains, including Gatwick Express; 3&4 for stopping services via Redhill, and 5&6 for local services to Caterham and Tattenham Corner.
