From the A3 follow the signs to Guildford town centre and the railway station. When you cross over the railway lines you will reach a \'roundabout\' or gyratory system. Follow this all the way round and take the fifth exit which is the A3100 Portsmouth Road. Follow this road for about a mile and a half and you will reach the Park and Ride site. You can either turn in here to park or carry on to the business park which is the next left.
From the Park and ride head towards the railway and follow the footpath south until you reach the bridge.
The business centre car park is rarely full and you can park opposite the bridge, but there may be parking restrictions. Alternatively use the park and ride car park and follow the footpath that runs parallel to the railway line south to the location.
By train to Guildford. Then use the
Park and Ride in reverse! It is a few minutes walk from the railway station to the Friary park and ride stop.
There are no amenities at the location, there may be some loos in the Park and Ride car park. There is a garden center just on the other side of the car park that 'may' have a cafe.
Otherwise it is in to Guildford town center.
There are a number of hotels in Guildford town centre.
The line runs roughly south west to north east which gives good coverage for most of the day. The bridge gives a number of angle and height options.
The road noise is not to obtrusive for videographers, but the location is quite open and there will be a lot of noise from the trees when it is windy
