Road directions
A minor private (and narrow) road runs from the A626, on the west side of the Peak Forest Canal, leading to the small factory on the west side of the canal aqueduct, and also to a few houses on the east side of the canal.
Parking
There may be space to park on the minor road leading to the factory, but it is not known how the road owners react to any unauthorised parking. If problems are encountered, it might be preferable to find a parking space in Marple town centre. The car park at Marple station is for rail users only.
Public transport
Walk from Marple station. Outside the station, turn right onto the A626 Station Road. After a steep climb for about 200 yards, turn right and walk north along the tow path of the Peak Forest Canal. Pass underneath the railway at Marple Wharf Junction and continue onto the canal aqueduct. Walking time approximately 18 to 20 minutes.
Amenities
None. There are some shops in Marple town centre however.
From the canal tow path, you are looking upwards towards the railway viaduct. Although very scenic, the presence of trees obstructs views of trains longer than about 3 to 4 vehicles. The position of the sun favours photography in the afternoon.
