From the Warwick bypass (A46) take the A4177 towards Solihull. Keep on this road until you can take the B4439 to Shrewley. As you approach Shrewley, take the left hand spur. (If you miss it, simply take the next left at the junction!)
You then have 2 options. Look for the second public footpath sign on the left. You can park by the post office, and walk down this track. This leads down to the canal. If you follow this, you will eventually see the footbridge, and you can then make your way across the field to it. You will need to climb the wire fence to get to the bridge. You can also drive down this lane, and can park your car just before the canal.
Your second option is to park by the post office, and continue walking to another footpath on the left hand side just before you reach the motorway. This may be the best option if there has been recent rainfall.
Please note:
Some old maps may show an alternative footpath to the bridge via the farm off Station Road. However, this will only take you to the canal bridge which is now blocked off, as the bridge is currently deemed unsafe.
Described in the road directions.
The post office and shop in Shrewley may be of use. There is also the 'Durham Ox' restaurant and pub here.
A good selection of shots and from different angles can be had here, but the shot of choice has to be of westbound workings between around 2 and 6 o`clock.
The constant noise from the M40 does not make this location ideal for video.
