Road directions
From Northampton, head out on the A428 towards Coventry. After a few miles, you will pass through Harlestone. Note the pub on the right, The Fox and Hounds, and perhaps more importantly, the speed camera on the left!
As you leave Harlestone, and the road begins to climb, look out for a right hand turning signposted 'The Bramptons'. Take this turn, and follow the road until you see the railway cottages on the right hand side.
Parking
You can either park opposite the cottages, or if you take the track on the right just before the cottages, you can drive down to the location. However, the track is narrow, and it can often be difficult to turn around. The best place for turning is by the gates which the farmer sometimes uses to cross the line.
Amenities
The Dusty Fox in Harlestone provided good food and drink. However the pub has been renamed 'The Fox and Hounds' and refurbished, so the quality is, as yet, unknown.

Photographic notes
This location is best for southbound workings from late morning up to about 4 o'clock, and northbound workings in the afternoon to evening. Shots can only be had from one side of the line here. Steps are essential here to elevate above line side growth, particularly to photograph the southbound workings. You could climb up the gates, but catenary the masts are too obtrusive.
