From Nuneaton head to the A5 and leave onto the B4116 and this will take you towards the station, the station itself is accessed through a black gate and there is a small and usually empty car park.
You can leave your car in the usually empty car park which can accommodate about 6 cars. You are not far away from your car at any time and it seems perfectly safe.
The train service is infrequent to say the least.
Stagecoach in Warwickshire operate Route 48 between Coventry/Nuneaton and Atherstone at 20 minute intervals, and also route 777 every hour between Atherstone and Birmingham International Airport.
Arriva Midlands North operate Route 776 every hour between Tamworth and Nuneaton serving Atherstone.
There is a train from Nuneaton and Tamworth every hour on weekdays and every 2 hours over the weekend.
There is a very pleasant village/town in Atherstone itself and a Co-Op next to the station. The town itself is 5 minutes walk away and this features a 'Greggs' Bakery.
There is
The Atherstone Red Lion Hotel which is a short walk up Station Street. Otherwise Nuneaton or Tamworth would probably be your best bet.
Light is good for most of the day and the station is well lit for night time videographers! Views can be had in both directions and there is a curve at both ends so you can capture a tilting Pendolino with some ease.
The overbridge has now been completely removed. To access platform 1 (northbound) exit the station, turn left and walk through a narrow road underpass. Turn left again, and join the platform.
