From the Forth Road Bridge
Take the first exit after crossing to Fife, sign posted North Queensferry and Rosyth, Do not take the North Queensferry Road. Instead take the third exit sign posted for Inverkeithing, you should encounter another roundabout straightaway again take the Inverkeithing exit and follow the road underneath the Jamestown Viaduct. Take the first turning on your right, Ferryhill Road, this road goes under the Rosyth Dockyard branch and bear right past a large furniture showroom/outlet on your left hand side and a car dismantlers on your right. Ferryhill Road climbs steeply over Ferry Hills as you head towards North Queensferry, follow this road until you reach the railway station and turn right immediately after passing under the railway bridge into Brook Street, once again immediately turn left into Mount Hooly. Follow this short cul-de-sac as it turns back on itself and the Forth Rail Bridge is straight in front of you.

Ample parking is next to the vantage point.

There is a regular train service to North Queensferry station.
Leave the station from the down platform and turn left into Brook Street. Mount Hooly is the second opening on the right.

The location is best suited for afternoon evening shots and is best for northbound trains due to the height of the subject compared to the photographer, although the bridge is bi-directional.
