Heading out of London on the A1 pull into the BP service station after Five Ways Corner. Keep left to get into the car park.
Best to park in the 5 Ways Retail park as the petrol station is quite busy. There may be time restrictions in the car park.
The location is next to a large petrol station with a shop and bakery etc, if you are really hungry there is a TGI Friday’s there too!
The location is best suited to northbound services and is on the east side of the line so it will favour morning light. There are shots of southbound trains but there is pretty much no notice of approaching trains until they are right on top of you. The southbound slow road is closest to the location and you can get an interesting set of height based angles on trains, but still with the advanced notice restraint.
Extra video notes
Although the location looks good the line runs parallel to the M1 motorway, traffic noise makes the location pretty much unusable unless you are shooting silent movies or post dubbing the audio.
