Road directions
From the A1, Junction 17:
Join the A1139 (Fletton Parkway) and turn left at the first exit (this is a continuation). Follow the A1139 which is sign posted for the A605 / East of England Show ground. When you reach the second roundabout, take the forth exit (A605) for the Whittlesey direction follow the road, continuing in a straight direction past another two roundabouts, you will come to a set of traffic light, turn left into Orton Mere were the car park is found. On arrival, there is a footpath / Cycle path, turn left and follow the path along which leads to the crossing (Approximately 8 minutes walk).
Parking
I would recommend leaving the Car at Orton Mere (close to the Nene Valley Railway Station and walk 8 -10 minutes to Yacht Club Crossing. There is car parking in Ferry Meadows, but this cost and there is very little difference between walking from Ferry Meadows Country Park and from Orton Mere to the crossing.
Public transport
Number 14 bus from Peterborough Bus Station (Queensgate). Check the Stagecoach in Peterborough Website.
Amenities
There is a cafe and toilets located in Ferry Meadows Country Park, at the end of Ham Lane.
Accommodation
There are lots of Bed and Breakfast in Peterborough.
Railway Gen Group
Anglia Gen
Photographic notes
The location is on a sweeping cure and is generally good any time of the year. One disadvantage is there are very tall trees near by and in low sun can cast a shadow on the subject. Noise levels are excellent, as this is a quiet, peaceful, location.
