Location notes
Town centre station, two platforms plus disused bay on south side.
Railway type and traffic
Up to 3 passenger trains per hour each way. Mostly Class 142/150/156/158.
Freight very occasionally.
Environment
Urban, light industry with disused remains of goods yard at east of station.
Road directions
Head for St. Helens town centre and follow signs to the railway station.

Parking
Free at station for rail passengers ONLY. Pay & display car parks in town centre. Free on-street parking is extremely restricted near the station, and usually limited to 1 or 2 hours.
Public transport
By rail to St. Helens Central.
By bus from St. Helens Junction station to the town centre (2 miles).
Amenities
In nearby town centre. Note that ticket barrier checks are usually present during the daytime.

Sun best for eastbound trains in the morning. For westbound trains, a better location is Corporation Street over bridge, immediately on the Wigan side of the station.
Note that some staff can be unfriendly towards photographers.
