Road directions
From Clapham Common where the A3 and A205 South Circular Road meet, take the A3220 towards Earls Court. Turn right at the first set of traffic lights into Lavender Hill and keep going straight until you get to the station.
Parking
Street parking nearby but given the location it might not be to your liking to leave a car there for any period of time.
Public transport
Southern Railway: Half hourly service from Victoria, Battersea Park, Denmark Hill, London Bridge and Peckham Rye. Bus route 77 is the best to Lavender Hill (5 minutes walk to Clapham Junction), Earlsfield, Tooting, Vauxhall, Waterloo
Bus route 87 to Vauxhall Station, Westminster, Clapham Junction
Bus route P5 to Stockwell, Brixton, Elephant & Castle
Amenities
There is a newsagents just outside the station entrance. There are also a number of fast food outlets, including a McDonnalds, along the street under the railway bridge.
Stand on Platform 2 until 14:00, and Platform 1 after this. It will ensure the best cover from the light. Any view looking north will probably involve the famous Battersea Power Station. Light is usually good; at any time of the day you can always find a good place to stand and photograph or video (Victoria end Platform 1 or 2, Denmark Hill end Platform 1 or 2, Footbridge looking NW / SE)
A favourable location in the afternoons is the end of Platform 1, away from the Starter Signal. In the mornings, use the Intermediate part of the footbridge from Platform 2, as it gives an excellent angle.
