A new mobile site has been ceated. Whilst this page will remain you may find
Trainspots mobile better suited to a smart phone.
The location is off the A423 which runs between Banbury and Coventry, and is about half way between Banbury and Southam near Fenny Compton.
If travelling from Banbury, you need to take the first right into Claydon before you reach Fenny Compton.
If you are travelling from the other direction, you need to take the second left 'after' Fenny Compton.
As you approach the village of Claydon, you will pass under a railway bridge, and as you continue uphill, you will see a space to park your car on the left hand side. Once parked, you need to take the public footpath on the opposite side of the road. This will lead you to the location which is a small crossing on the line.
Despite ample room for parking, your car will not be visible once at the location.
Service 510 runs three times a day from Banbury to Claydon village and
return, currently at 0940, 1140 and 1410 from Banbury and operated by
Geoff Amos' Coaches.

You can get a cup of tea from the Bygone museum in Claydon, and there are a couple of good pubs in nearby Fenny Compton. Also, 'The Avon' in nearby Avon Dassett is highly recommended.
It is possible to photograph from both sides of the line, although assuming the light conditions are right, the best shots are obtained if you cross the line.
