You can 'bump' up and park on the bridge itself, but just a few yards further down the road are a couple of places where you can tuck in safely from the busy road.
There are a couple of pubs in the village of Fenny Compton itself, the nearest being the Wharf Inn (which you cannot miss, and is highly recommended.) A cup of tea can also be had at the Bygones museum in nearby Claydon.
Shots can be had from both sides of the bridge. However, for shots looking west, you will need a zoom lens to avoid the unsightly enclosure to the fore. Shadows creeping across the line can also be troublesome at certain times of the year.
The shot looking east can be considered better, and is a reasonable evening shot. Shame they got rid of the semaphores though...
