Road directions
From Canterbury, head towards Margate on the A28. This will lead straight to Upstreet. When you arrive, look out for the post office and store on your left. The public footpath to the location is directly opposite the shop.
Please note: If there has been recent wet weather, the footpath down to the line can be slippy and dangerous, so take care.
Parking
Park along the road near the shop, or down Stour Valley Close.
Amenities
Nothing at the location itself, but the village has its own store where snacks and freshly made sandwiches can be purchased. There is the Royal Oak in Upstreet itself, and there is also a pub at nearby Grove Ferry.
Railway Gen Group
South East Gen
Photographic notes
This is not a good location for the 'ideal' sunny weather. If you want the sun on your side, shots here are too tight on the curve, so the best shots are on the nearside of the crossing for which the sun is wrong if it is out. Good for overcast days though, and may be a useful and quiet location for some video footage.
