New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
On the Midland main line, 35 miles south of Leicester.
Railway type and traffic
There are 4 Midland Mainline services an hour though so plenty of opportunities for HST and 'Meridian' shots.. From around 12:00hrs on a good day there can be a procession of north-bound empty freights, mainly aggregate trains, as well as a couple of cement trains. There is little if any south-bound afternoon freight traffic.
This is where the Forders to Cricklewood binliner runs round in both mornings and evenings on weekdays.
