Road directions
From M1 Junction 18:
Head towards Kilsby. When you reach Kilsby you come to a roundabout, at which you need to take A5 turning to Milton Keynes. After a short time, you will notice soome locks, Welton Hythes, and a caravan site on the left. Pull into the lay-by next to this.
Parking
As already mentioned, park in the lay-by. Do not park in the car park on opposite side of road (the side of the railway) as this is a staff car park for Welton Hythes, and they can get funny about it being used.
Amenities
Nothing here apart from the odd black berry in summer months if you get peckish. There is a farm just slightly north along the A5 towards Kilsby that sells Ice Creams, they have a sign by the road when open.

Photographic notes
Apart from possible an early morning sleeper shot, it is best to take the footpath under the line, and shoot from the field edge. Southbounds are generally on from late morning/12:00, and northbounds from about 15:00 or 16:00, depending on time of year of course. Steps, while not essential at certain times of the year, would certainly be beneficial at all times.
