The location lies on a minor road that links the A6 at Furness Vale with the A6015 near New Mills Town Centre.
Space for a few cars to park on the road, but avoid the bends in the road on either side of the bridge.
By rail to either New Mills Central or Furness Vale station, then walk. From Furness Vale, turn right (downhill) into Station Road, continuing left round the bend into Marsh Lane until you reach the bridge (about 10 to 12 minutes - caution no footpath for part of the road). From New Mills Central, turn left and climb Station Road to its end. After passing the small bus station, turn right into Union Road, then turn left into Church Road. After about ¼ mile, turn right into Marsh Lane, which leads to the bridge (about 15 to 20 minutes).
None. The nearest facilities will be in New Mills town centre.
The light is best for southbound trains. Shade from the cutting and vegetation are a problem for photography of northbound trains for much of the day.
