Access is by the B6062 from Whaley Bridge (on the A6), which connects to the A624 from Glossop, about midway between Chinley and Chapel-en-le-Frith. The B6062 is a 'straight on' turn off the A624 just after you go under two railway bridges, ignore this turn and continue straight ahead onto Stubbins Lane bridge.
There is some limited on-street parking in Station Road and nearby roads.
By rail to the station by local services from Manchester Piccadilly or Sheffield.
Come out of the station and turn left along Station Road. When you reach the end turn left again and you will reach the location.
Walking time is 4 or 5 minutes from the station.
There are a few shops in the village of Chinley to the west.
This location is best for photos of southbound trains. As, for much of the day, the northbound track is heavily shaded by vegetation.
