Access is by the B6062 from Whaley Bridge (on the A6), which connects to the A624 from Glossop, about midway between Chinley and Chapel-en-le-Frith. The B6062 is a 'straight on' turn off the A624 just after you go under two railway bridges. This will lead you to Station Road. Station Road takes the form of a loop on the north side of the B6062, in the village centre. From Station road walk (see public transport directions).
There is a car park in Station Road, about 50 yards from the station with a road leading to the footpath and this location.
By rail to the station by local services from Manchester Piccadilly or Sheffield.
Walk down Station Road to the B6062 (Lower Lane) and turn right. After about 7 minutes walk, the footbridge can be seen on the right (north) side of this road.
There are a few shops in the village of Chinley.
Photos possible in either direction, light best for southbound trains, but alright for northbound trains from early afternoon onwards. May be shade from vegetation in winter when sun is low in the sky.
