A new mobile site has been ceated. Whilst this page will remain you may find
Trainspots mobile better suited to a smart phone.
From Ryde or Ventor take the A3055 to Shanklin.
From Cowes, Newport, Yarmouth or Freshwater take the A3020.
Once in Shanklin follow the signs to the station.
You can park in the station car park.
Island Line servicesSouthern Vectis run buses to Shanklin from the surrounding area but they are overpriced and unreliable!
The station has toilets and a small shop selling sweets and drinks etc.
If you leave the station and head down the hill and past the church you will enter the centre of Shanklin which has all the usual shops and eateries.
Shanklin is full of Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts.
If you plan to stay for a while pop your head into the ticket office and let them know that your there and what your doing, you should not have any problems though!
The line rounds a curve as it enters the station and is aligned NE-SW, so shots are possible for most of the day. You could certainly do a video here.
