Road directions
From Newport, head North East towards Ryde on the A3054. Ignore the turning to East Cowes, and continue to the roundabout which you go straight over. You should see a farm on your right, and just after this is a turning you need to take. Keep on this road, continuing over the old cross roads, now one of those silly little roundabouts, into Bridlesford Road. Be careful here as it`s easy to miss the turning you need, which is the fourth on the left, look out for signs advertising cane furniture. Take this bumpy track towards Great Bridlesford Farm. Due to the uneven nature of the track, it is best to drive part way, and walk the remainder of the distance. About halfway down this lane, there is a branch which leads up and to the left, you need to follow this which takes you straight to the crossing.
Alternatively, there's a far more scenic route from Newport than the route above. From the roundabout on Newport Bridge, don't take the main road but turn right up Staplers Road and keep going till you reach Bridlesford Road where you will need to turn right into it. This Staplers Road route forks, soon after you crest the hill and star running down the other side, where you will come to the fork, enjoying a stupendous view. The left fork leads past Butterfly World to the crossroads above mentioned, whilst the right fork leads to the Bridlesford Road at Knight's Cross where you could turn left along Bridlesford Road, instead, to access Great Bridlesford Farm as per your usual practice.
Parking
It is probably best to park on the right-hand side as the lane forks, then walk to the location.
Amenities
Nothing at the location, but there is the Woodman Arms at nearby Wootton.
Although probably best for east-bound trains, there is scope here to get a variety of workings in either direction throughout the day. Ideal for video, due to the quietness of the location.
